TRIPLEHOP ANNOUNCES MATCHPOINT 3.0: NEW ENTERPRISE SEARCH SOFTWARE FEATURING REAL-TIME INDEXING AND IMPROVED CONTEXTUAL SENSITIVITY

TripleHop Technologies today announced MatchPoint 3.0, its new enterprise contextual search software that gives corporate users fast and precise access to knowledge assets relevant to their job functions. MatchPoint 3.0 combines the best of statistical and semantic analysis to give users increased sensitivity to the context of their query, including the user profile and existing enterprise knowledge, yielding unparalleled search relevance and performance. Learn more about MatchPoint 3.0 next week at KM World, booth 424.

"MatchPoint 3.0 is the direct result of implementing the search needs of our customers and our overall architectural improvements," says Renaud Laplanche, CEO, TripleHop Technologies. "MatchPoint quickly sifts through vast amounts of information, combining real-time indexing and federated searches, delivering users a single merged list of relevant results." Laplanche emphasized, "Powerful contextual filters help obtain relevant results faster. This new release gives us the definitive competitive edge when it comes to search relevance, speed and scalability."

Guy Creese, Research Director at Aberdeen Group, notes, "In today’s corporate environment, organizations can’t waste time searching for or recreating what they already know. MatchPoint 3.0 leverages both content and user profiles to deliver highly relevant search results¾quickly helping enterprises to build on what they know, rather than struggle to reclaim what they’ve forgotten."

Contextual Search Sensitivity MatchPoint 3.0 significantly enhances the sensitivity of a query as it factors in the context of the search. MatchPoint automatically generates a contextual thesaurus as it crawls and indexes enterprise documents, and uses this thesaurus to disambiguate and expand the user query based on existing enterprise knowledge, the user profile and the customer's work process.

Gilles Le Noc, a spokesperson for Credit Mutuel, one of the largest commercial banks in France (more) says, "We looked at 10 different providers and selected TripleHop for its ability to handle indexed and federated searches across disparate sources and its ability to search by concept, not only keywords."

Real-time Indexing

MatchPoint’s index architecture gives users immediate access to new documents, proving itself especially invaluable to news organizations and trading floors. With MatchPoint, a document can be indexed and ready for search within 10 seconds after it is received or created.

Faster Response Times and Increased Scalability

Highlighting MatchPoint’s applicability for large organizations, it maintains optimal search speed, even when facing terabytes of data. The product uses a distributed architecture to create as many "Search Services" as necessary. Each Search Service can have several indexes and each index can be partitioned. User queries are launched into multiple indexes and sub-indexes, and the results are merged through the MatchPoint Federator. This distributed architecture helps handle terabytes of data without substantially degrading response time. For example, response times range from 85 ms for an index size of 4.5 GB to 950 ms (0.9 second) for an index size of 70 GB.

US COMPANIES CHOOSE AN AMIGO

Innovative search engine products company YourAmigo is making significant inroads in the US and Europe, UK, and Australia with recent sales of its enterprise search product to McGraw-Hill, The Tribune Co, Mazda, Thales defense, the Honolulu Police Department, to name a few.

YourAmigo, which was recently selected by leading publication KMWorld as one of the "Top 100 companies that matter in Knowledge Management, has developed a complete range of search products based on a new technology for discovering and indexing documents, which is not reliant on traditional spidering or crawling techniques.

"YourAmigo Enterprise Search is able to index and search both structured and unstructured data simultaneously, which is a powerful proposition for maximizing knowledge management in an organization," says CEO Rahmon Coupe.

"We have a unique architecture and search discovery technology that is able to index all information on an intranet, including dynamic pages from databases, as opposed to just the databases themselves.

This is important because both intranets and websites are becoming more database driven, with web interfaces built on templates. Searchers want to find the actual dynamic pages that include the templates, which gives the information context and meaning, not just rows of meaningless data from a database, and our customers are ecstatic about the results" says Coupe.

"We tried lots of search engines for our intranet, but this was the first one that really worked properly" said a Fortune 500 company.

YourAmigo has also recently released its new Spider Linker™ product. Spider Linker™ is a breakthrough product which makes all content on a website available to Internet search engines including Google, Yahoo and Alta Vista.

Internet search engines use software programs called "spiders", "robots" or "crawlers" to download and index pages; some pages, including unlinked documents and dynamic pages created on-the-fly from databases (eg web-based catalogues), are virtually invisible to the spiders, and so are not found through searches on the big-brand Internet search engines such as Google, Yahoo and AltaVista. Spider Linker™ solves this problem by making the invisible pages visible.

Leading US search engine analyst and author Chris Sherman has commended YourAmigo for its "unique and successful" solution to the growing number of pages hidden in the "invisible web".

The President of Colorado-based web consulting firm Searchwise and co-author of "The Invisible Web", Mr Sherman said that YourAmigo’s technology was a boon for anyone who depends on high-quality information, bypassing the limitations of popular search engines.

"YourAmigo received substantial interest in, and orders for, its new Spider Linker product when it exhibited at the recent Search Engine Strategies Conference in San Jose in August 2003", said Coupe.

"The response from US companies and organizations to our products has been so excellent that we will feature our Enterprise Search products at the forthcoming KM World and Intranets Conference and Expo at Santa Clara from 14-16 October"

YourAmigo’s products are reaping rewards for its customers with comments like:

"With the installation of the YourAmigo Search engine for our web site, the popularity and prestige of the site has grown significantly. In less than 12 months, the number of unique visitors has risen by 118% on an already well known site."

"Since the installation of YourAmigo’s Spider Linker the number of unique visitors to our web site has increased 450% translating to a 30% increase in sales"

To meet worldwide product demand YourAmigo has made two new key appointments in Global Sales and Marketing Manager, Gary Smith, and a new Executive Vice President of North American Operations, Joe Herne."

YourAmigo will also be exhibiting at KM World and Intranets Conference and Expo in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in November 2003.
