Imagine - the calling features you want, the devices you want AND the high speed Internet connection you want at a price you can afford! What? Centrepoint Technologies has recently announced its co-development and technology sharing partnership with TEK DigiTel. The partnership enables both companies to deliver Voice-over-IP-ready communications solutions to the SOHO and remote access markets.

Background: The Internet has become indispensable to all functions of a small business. Unifying traditional telephony with email, fax, video, the Internet and LANs across a single architecture is now crucial to starting and effectively running the business.

Centrepoint and TEK DigiTel have announced plans to fuse their core competencies to develop a new breed of full-featured convergence platforms for small and remote offices. The composite product will be a small, self-installing standalone device that effectively merges office devices (phones, fax machines, answering machines, modems, PC etc.), a variety of high-speed connections to the Internet (xDSL, cable, ISDN), remote devices (cell/PCS phones, pagers and external phone numbers) and complete LAN integration - for a price point that will revolutionize the market!

This will allow companies to accelerate the deployment of complete, no-compromise, telephony solutions," said Jose Picazo, President and CEO of Picazo Communications, Inc. "Our software will empower business-critical applications with such technologies as IP telephony, IP fax, multimedia, unified messaging, access to distributed databases and e-commerce. With the tighter integration of voice and data, we’re ultimately enhancing the way businesses can communicate." "Organizations today realize the strategic value of integrating their business applications with their communications infrastructure to improve user productivity, enhance customer service, and reduce overall ownership cost," said Mark Lee, product manager for Windows Communications at Microsoft Corp. "There is no better platform to enable this integration than Windows 2000 so we are very pleased that Picazo is building its next generation communications server on Windows 2000 Server. " No Compromise Communications Server Platform for Next Generation Applications With initial support for hundreds of users and an architecture that can scale to thousands, Picazo’s Windows-based telephony technology also provides compatibility with industry-standard interfaces such as TAPI, MAPI, and SAPI. This scalability and compatibility will dramatically improve ease of integration, increases user productivity, gives users a solid growth path and provides a significantly lower overall cost of ownership.

Tapestry Adds Nuance Communications Speech Recognition to Call Center Products

(St. Louis, MO) Tapestry Integration Specialists, Inc. today announced its partnership with Nuance Communications, a leading provider of speech recognition software. The agreement allows Tapestry ISI to offer Nuance' natural language speech recognition and speaker verification capabilities with their custom and packaged automated customer care, technical support, and automated sales applications.

Tapestry Adds Nuance Communications Speech Recognition to Call Center Products (St.

The addition of speech recognition allows callers to interact with Tapestry applications using spoken commands to replace or augment the traditional, and, sometimes cumbersome, touch-tone interface. "Speech recognition is now affordable and reliable. It's become commercially viable. Customers are asking for it because it shortens call lengths and makes systems much easier to use," said John Mandelker, Tapestry ISI's president. "We chose Nuance because this is their core business. They know speech recognition. Their technology works very well and we can add it more easily to our new and existing applications," he said.

Call center managers definitely come out ahead as a result of our partnership with Tapestry," said Chuck Buffum, director of enterprise channels and partners for Nuance Communications. "Their systems integration and call center application expertise combined with Nuance' natural language speech recognition interfaces provides the possibility of new, extremely powerful automated applications. This partnership is good for both Nuance and Tapestry, but our mutual customers are the real winners."

Tapestry Integration Specialists, Inc. is a St. Louis based advanced technologies systems integration firm that specializes in the development, integration, and implementation of custom and packaged applications for customer service/customer care, telesales, and technical support call centers. Tapestry ISI applications combine technologies, such as interactive voice response, computer telephony integration, fax and email, Internet e-Commerce, and advanced interface technologies such as natural language speech recognition.
